Two Short Programs from Battlefield Productions   Money for Nothing Welcome to Dresden WELCOME TO DRESDEN This impromptu production was rushed into completion with the limited facilities available while living in the benevolent turmoil that was Dresden in the first years after Einheit ‹ the reunification of East and West Germany on 3 October 1990. We attempted to use the examples of beauty and destruction, reconstruction and exploitation which played out in the chaotic, fascinating city of Dresden, the Florence of the Elbe, during the second year when new realisations were dawning, revealing an unexpected, new colonisation. The final minutes of the video introduce the dawa efforts of the Murabitun Muslims, led by Shaykh Abdalqadir al-Murabit, which took place in Berlin and Dresden during the first days of re-unification.
